Failed shower at corner
Water leaking to outside
I did this repair after the new homeowner had noticed water leaking out from the front of the home. After the homeowner did some digging he found that water was leaking from the corner of the shower and caused damage to surrounding building materials. He wanted to fix the issue himself but was a little unsure about the actual correct process to make the shower useable again but more importantly, waterproofed. No problem for Wauna tile., after the homeowner took care of the water damaged corner, I constructed a traditional alternate shower receptor (mudpan) with new drain and tileable grate. I couldn't find the slate in a mosaic, but the homeowner found a stack af 12"x12" out in the woods, where the previous homeowner got rid of them. I took those found slate tiles and cut them down to be 2"x2" and then individually installed them to the shower pan , up and over the curb and to the radius of the bench area. Sealed, grouted and caulked, another repair that is waterproof and will last a lifetime with no worries about water leaking outside or anywhere for that matter other than properly down the drain as it's intended to do.
