Bathtub Surrounds
Installing tile around your bathtub is a great way to add style along with personalized functionality to your bathroom. One or more inset niches can be added during the process to keep all your shower needs together and not sitting on the tub ledge, thus opening up space and not having your shower seem crowded. With a limitless selection of tile that is offered today, I could work with you to get that perfect selection that fits your personal style and fits in with the rest of the residence style or decor.

Simplisticly Elegant
Here is an install I recently completed. The surround walls are done with a 24"x48" polished white porcelain tile on a verticle stack. With the super format tile and minimal grout lines it makes the space seem bigger and also makes for easier and less cleaning. I added in an inset centered niche with shelf and installed 2 grab bars at the clients desired locations.

Timeless
Here is an install that will stand the test of time. Just as it was popular 60 years ago, it still is a very desirable tile to install today... rittenhouse tile or the term everybody knows it as "subway" tile. This install was done with some variation as the entire left wall got tile installed as a "feature wall" with a black base tile and alternating 6"x6" to 3"x6" tile from row to row, with a black pencil liner and finally another row of black 6"x6" to crown the walls off. The cieling of the shower area also recieved a 3"x6" on a herringbone pattern.

Tsarus Almond with style
Here is a tub surround that started as a repair. The homeowner had ledgerstone installed, which was poorly installed and got worse as I started the fix the problem. I soon discovered that the majority of the heavy ledgerstone was not even set in mortar, rather relying on the other pieces around it to hold it all in place. No need to say, that had to come down, not only because of wrong installation procedures but more importantly the dangerous factor. So, this was the chosen tile to which I set on a 1/3 off set and gave the install a little more style by cutting down the tile into 5 different sizes and installing a custom random versalles deco band around the entire tub surround and continuing with the tile to fill the entire backwall of the bathroom as a feature wall. I framed in an inset niche with shelf and because of the void behind the wall I was able to make the bottom area of the niche deeper to help allow for more storage space.

Slate and Ceramic
Here is an install that I did simply because I got bored and wanted to do something. I installed 3"x 6" slate tiles on the back wall and a beveled 3" x 6" rittenhouse or "subway" tile on the two side walls. To give the slate some added depth and style, I presealed 1/2 with an impregnating sealant and the other 1/2 with an enhanced sealant, then randomly installed them, to which I was pleased with the final outcome.

Large subway
Here is an install from a few years back and is still an in-style install. A very typical "subway" tile install being on a 50/50 brick pattern but done with a large format tile and to accent and bring some color into the tub area a single inset niche with a bubble glass backwall. Simple. Clean.

Extra large format
Here is a project that was recently completed. This tub surround recieved two niches opposite of each other. And extra time and attention was taken to the super format 24" x 48" wall tile to make the "veins" match up from tile to tile, top to bottom and side to side. This install definetly brought the bathroom up to date and brought in much more light than what was previously installed, to which the homeowner called a "motel like bathroom". I also made some custom splash shields from the tile, the homeowner brought some cheap plastic ones for me to install but I couldn't have consciously allowed that.
